The standard hardware is designed for a healthy trunk 12–20 inches (30–50 cm) in diameter, with at least 24 inches (61 cm) of flat mounting surface and a minimum installation height of 8 feet (2.4 m). Do not install it on a diseased, damaged, or unhealthy tree.

SkyStand provides room for swings up to 40 inches in diameter. The 40-inch Dreamcatcher and 24-inch Explorer are compatible options; the swing is purchased separately unless you choose a SkyStand bundle that lists one as included.

The maximum supported load is 500 lb (227 kg). Complete the manual's required load test before use and repeat the tree and hardware checks seasonally.

Installation requires two adults and careful measuring, assembly, tightening, and load testing. The manual calls for a 10-foot ladder and a 12-foot measuring tape; review the illustrated instructions and installation video before starting.

The box includes the SkyStand support frame, two ratchet straps, two ratchets, and the fabric cover. A swing and the larger bracket set for trunks over 20 inches are sold separately.
