TRIGO is played by 2, 3, or 4 players with the 3 Trigo Stars laid out in triangle shape, approximately 10 feet (3 m) from the throw line. Players take turns throwing the rings. The OBJECT is to throw your rings into the middle triangular space created by the Trigo Stars and score points. The additional strategy is to score points by redefining the "triangle shape" after you ring one of the stars.

Play Tips:

HOW TO SET UP - Players set up 3 Trigo Stars 36" apart (1M), in a triangle shape 10' (3M) from the throw line.

HOW TO PLAY - Players take turns, throwing their rings from behind the throw line to land within the triangular shape field. "Ring the star" - allows you to call TRIGO and gives you the ability to re-throw the star to a new position and hopefully positioning your opponents' rings no longer scoring points as the triangular field has changed!

HOW TO SCORE: If one of your rings are inside, and another ring of the same color touches one inside, all of them are in. Use the Measuring Line to see if the ring is in. Play in multiple rounds until a player reaches 10 points and wins!

Frequently Asked Questions

Place the three Trigo Stars in a triangle with each side about 3 feet (1 m) long. Mark a throw line 10 feet (3 m) from the nearest star. The included measuring cord and stick help set those distances consistently.

Players stand behind the throw line and take turns tossing their color of rings into the triangular scoring field. Points are counted after the last ring is thrown, so later throws can change which rings score.

A ring in the triangular field scores 1 point. If another ring of the same color overlaps a scoring ring, the connected same-color rings also count under the 'audit' rule. Use the measuring cord if a ring is close to the boundary.

The player can leave that star where it is and take 1 point, or throw the ring and star again to move the corner of the triangle. Moving a star redraws the scoring field and can put previously scoring rings outside it.

If a ring hits a Trigo Star and bounces back up instead of staying on it, that player may throw the ring and the star again. This keeps a clean rebound from being treated as a missed turn.

Trigo is designed for 2–4 players. The set includes 12 rings in four colors, so each player uses three matching rings when four people play.

The first player to 10 points wins. The actual time varies with player count, distance, and how often stars are moved, so you can shorten a casual game by agreeing on a lower target before play.

Allow a level area of roughly 10 by 10 feet (3 by 3 m) on grass or sand, with clear room behind the throw line. The target triangle itself uses 3-foot (1 m) sides and sits 10 feet (3 m) from the throw line.

The carry bag holds 12 throwing rings—three in each of four colors—three Trigo Stars, one measuring cord, and one measuring stick.
